Modern Manufacturing Processes
ME 49700/ 3 Cr.
Brief description of the content of the course (catalog description): This course presents a comprehensive, balanced, and up-to-date coverage of the fundamentals and real-world applications of nontraditional manufacturing processes (electron beam machining, water jet machining, laser beam machining, electrical discharge machining, abrasive water jet machining, etc.). Rapid prototyping and manufacturing is included in this course as well. All the parameters for adjusting and improving the quality in each process are discussed in detail. Process automation as well as computer-integrated manufacturing systems is contained in the last section of this course.
